The 2009 PCP Mid-Year Convention is Cancelled
To Philippine College of Physician (PCP) members, The North Luzon chapter under the leadership of Dr. Manny Bautista had met with his team to have an accurate assessment of the impact of the recent disaster on the prospect of holding the PCP mid-year convention in Baguio as scheduled. They have wisely deemed it prudent and appropriate to cancel the mid-year convention that they had earnestly prepared for. At this time, focus has to be put on the on-going relief operations. The Board of Regents agrees with their assessment of the situation and has approved the recommendation to cancel the 2009 mid-year convention in Baguio. PMA AWARDED AS THE OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR 2009 BY THE PRC
Philippine Medical Association was awarded the coveted Outstanding Accredited Professional Organization for 2009 by the Philippine Regulation Commission ( PRC) . The Awarding Ceremonies of the 36th Founding Anniversary and Professional Regulation Week was held at the Manila Hotel last June 19, 2009. The theme was “Strengthening the Image of PRC : Integrity, Transparency and Competence”. The PMA President, Dr. Rey Melchor Santos , humbly accepted the award that surpassed six other nominees for the year from the Hon. Nicolas Lapena Jr., Chairman of the PRC. I am writing this to show my sentiments on the current issue that the Chief of Hospital of J.R. Borja General Hospital in the person of Dr. Dures Tagayuna received an order recalling her to the City Health Office. What’s all the fuzz? Dr. Tagayuna has done more for the Hospital and it’s Personnel and Staff in the past 2 years she served as Chief of Hospital than any of her predecessors who served the same period. She was sweet-talked into running an almost dying institution probably not so much as to save it but more so in the hope of making her a political ally by the way things are going.
